Saraya Aqaba Real Estate Development signed an agreement with Orange Jordan to establish and manage Saraya Aqaba's integrated telecommunications infrastructure. The announcement was made official at a press conference held recently in Aqaba which brought together Saraya Aqaba’s General Manager Eng. Soud Soror, Orange’s CEO Jean-Francois Thomas, several members of both companies and representatives of the local media.
Under the agreement, Orange will provide Saraya Aqaba with a comprehensive suite of telecommunication services that include fixed line, mobile and internet services that span voice, content, data transfer and high-speed broadband, in addition to cellular coverage within closed spaces and WiFi coverage in both closed and open spaces. These services will be managed and maintained by Orange’s team of qualified technicians.
Eng. Soror explained that this agreement falls in line with Saraya Aqaba's strategy to establish long-term partnerships, with innovative organizations to deliver world-class services to the project. “Our partnership with Orange is another milestone added to our previously-announced re-launch plan. It is a testament of our commitment to achieving Saraya Aqaba’s vision in revolutionizing the real estate and tourism sectors and supporting Jordan's growing economy.” Soror added, “We are highly confident that Orange Jordan’s expertise in providing comprehensive cutting-edge telecommunication services will be an added value and an important tributary to our project.”
Mr. Thomas indicated that Orange Jordan is immensely proud to be the telecom partner of the Saraya Aqaba project. He stated how this partnership goes hand-in-hand with Orange’s strategy to reinforce its presence within the local business landscape by building partnerships that contribute to the creation of a modern economy. The operator, he explained, lends particular focus to the hospitality and real estate sectors, offering modern communication solutions that deliver added value and give large-scale projects a marked competitive edge.
Mr. Sami Smeirat, Orange Jordan’s Chief Enterprise Business Unit Officer and CEO of Jordan Data Communications Company, explained that the service suite provided by Orange leverages the latest developments in the field of advanced communication technologies. He emphasized that investors, businessmen, and visitors will be able to boost their competitiveness, by utilizing the services provided thus saving them both time and operational costs, particularly those related to the logistical management of aspects like server locations, networking protocols, security and maintenance.
Saraya Aqaba is Saraya's flagship destination and is located on the north shore of Aqaba in Jordan. The project comprises approximately 634,000 sqm of master planned development that will be built around a man-made lagoon adding approximately 1.5 km of beachfront to the Gulf of Aqaba. The approximate total cost of the project is over one billion USD.
The project also comprises 756 residential units divided into five categories: Grand Villas, Villas and Town Houses, Apartments, and Beach Club Duplexes. Furthermore, it hosts a number of premium five-star and boutique hotels offering over 1,100 hotel rooms that will serve to boost tourism in Aqaba.
