Research Institute of Petroleum Industry provides laboratory, research, technical, and consultancy services to the oil and gas production, oil refining, environmental protection, petrochemicals, polymer, and energy industries.
The company operates through seven divisions: Center for Exploration and Production Studies and Research, Process Engineering Development, Chemistry and Petrochemical, Polymer Science and Technology, Petroleum Refining, Gas, and Industrial and Environmental Protection. Its divisions involved in various activities, including the discovery and evaluation of hydrocarbon resources and production methods, development and enhanced oil recovery; the development of gas conversion, transport and refinement; qualitative and quantitative improvement and promotion of petroleum products; the design and development of industrial processes and utilization of modern technology in the oil industry; and modern environmental technology to control water, air, and soil pollutants, as well as to protect oil industry installations.
Research Institute of Petroleum Industry’s divisions also engages in the evaluation and integration of energy in industry, as well as the management of energy resources and water; the synthesis and formulation of chemical material required by the oil, gas, and petrochemical and other industries; the identification and application of specialty polymers in industry; the identification, evaluation, and manufacture of catalysts; the formulation of coating and oil lubricants; and the application and utilization of nanotechnology in oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. In addition, it offers printing ink for polyethene bags, offset printing ink stabilizing solution, colloidal graphite, calibration liquid, and open gear oil. The company was founded in 1959 and is based in Tehran, Iran.
