Khozam development real estate company is a limited liability company that was established in 2008 as a result of a partnership between Jeddah Development and Urban Regeneration Company (JDURC) and Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Company (DAAR). JDURC owns 49% while Dar Al Arkan owns 51% of the capital of the company. The Company aims to re-plan, organize and develop the region around the Qasr Khozam.
The company is embarking on an urgent scheme to reshuffle more than 50 underdeveloped urban districts. This colossal undertaking recognizes three major zones: Qasr Khozam, Bab Makkah and Al Sabil, all of which will be integrated to create a brand new vibrant urban life that is healthier and safer. The development of the historical Qasr Khozam area will involve the re-planning and development of the surrounding areas through various stages of field surveys and assessments with a view to provide adequate housing along with modern facilities including expansion of roads and streets and development of public utilities and services.
Qasr Khozam was home to the founder of Saudi Arabia King Abdulaziz bin Al Saud from 1932 and became of the Kingdom’s best-known landmarks and a symbol of the unification of Saudi Arabia. The Palace’s restoration is set to become a launching-pad for our massive Khozam project. This major initiative exemplifies the bold vision to bring an economic revolution to the inner city of Jeddah, and it is destined to make Jeddah one of the most influential and attractive cities in the Arab world.
The two-storey Qasr Khozam was home to several historical agreements kicking off the great oil era that brought Saudi Arabia from obscurity and created an oasis midst the desert dunes. Sadly though, the castle has to endure years of negligence requiring urgent and major face lift to bring it back to past glory.
