In 1991, Mohammad Younis, driven by a passion for engineering and a desire to build upon the family legacy, moved to Istanbul to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering from Yaldiz Teaching University. Upon completing his studies in 1996, he channeled his expertise and vision into establishing businesses that embodied the elegance and sophistication of Turkish design, particularly in the realm of lighting.
Establishing Istanbul Lighting
By 2001, Mohammad Younis relocated to Abu Dhabi, where he successfully balanced his government role with his entrepreneurial ambitions. He introduced the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) market to the captivating world of decorative lighting from Istanbul, leading to the creation of Istanbul Lighting. This venture quickly gained recognition for its exquisite chandeliers and lighting designs, setting the stage for future successes.
Diversification and Leadership in the GCC
In 2003, Istanboul Group diversified its portfolio, entering the general trading and construction sectors to address the growing demand for supply and installation services in the region. This expansion led to the establishment of Istanbul Electrical Ware Trading, which has since become a cornerstone of Istanboul Group's operations.
