Housing Development Corporation Limited (HDC) is a 100% state-owned enterprise appointed as the master developer, builder and regulator for the development of Hulhumalé, the first planned city in the Maldives. With a current population of 35000 people and over 390 hectares of reclaimed land, Hulhumalé anticipates accommodating two-thirds of the entire population of the country. Initially having a core focus on residential developments, this project has now grown to incorporate large scale projects concentrating on sectors such as tourism, ICT, finance, industrial and institutional; many of which are unique and of a scale unseen in the country. HDC is currently working towards creating Hulhumalé to become the first smart and sustainable city in Maldives and is proud to announce that Hulhumalé is open for investment.
