Gulf Mushroom Products Company SAOG (GMPC) is a public joint stock company incorporated in Oman and floated on the Muscat Securities Market. GMPC was established in 1997 with the mushroom farm located in Barka. The Company is engaged in the cultivation and marketing of fresh mushrooms. Right from the making of compost until harvesting and packing of fresh mushrooms, all production operations are proudly carried out in Oman.
It is the largest hi-tech mushroom farm in the entire middle east region based on state-of-the-art Dutch technology. Growing premium quality fresh mushrooms in the desert climate has been fraught with challenges in the form of high ambient temperatures, fluctuating humidity and lack of sufficient quantities of raw materials traditionally used for mushroom cultivation. But Company has consistently overcome these challenges by making optimum use of alternate raw materials and has learnt how to control the adverse impact of harsh climate conditions through perseverance and consultations with experts.
