The evolution of Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP) closely parallels the emergence and growth of Dubai’s aviation sector. When it first began operations in 1997, DAEP was known as the Engineering Projects Division of the Department of Civil Aviation. As Dubai’s aviation capacity demands grew, the division was given a wider mandate and operated as a semi-autonomous entity under the umbrella of the Dubai Aviation City Corporation. In acknowledgement of Dubai’s grand ambitions and the strategic importance of the aviation sector, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued Law No. 2 in 2012, setting up DAEP as an autonomous corporate entity attached to the Dubai Aviation City Corporation.
Building on its legacy, DAEP is responsible for the planning, construction, renovation and infrastructure works of airports and airport facilities within Dubai and beyond.
