Gerold F. Tigges founded the Company in 1945. Prior to 1945, Mr. Tigges co-authored the book, Original Instructions Governing Public Land Surveys of Iowa and was the Director of the Iowa Geodetic Survey. The company was incorporated in 1961 as Tigges Engineering. In 1999 Brian R. Campbell became a partner and the name was changed to Tigges-Campbell Engineering. In 2007, following the death of Mr. Tigges in 2005, the company was renamed to Campbell Engineering Surveying (CES).
