The first major development by Bildex, a 17 -story tower in Abu Dhabi commissioned by the Abu Dhabi General Transport Company, was completed in 1979. Following the successful execution of this project, Bildex spearheaded an array of multi-purpose projects throughout the capital ranging from office and residential towers to mixed-use urban projects and villas. The company is widely accredited for shaping the Abu Dhabi Corniche skyline, with the construction of several iconic high-rises such as the Baniyas Tower - the first building designed with a curtain wall exterior, escalator system, indoor swimming pools, and cantilevered slabs - and constructed by a local company in Abu Dhabi.
