The company is a newly formed subsidiary of TAQNIA and is a commercial arm of KACST, headquatered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Its parent, TAQNIA, is owned and funded by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, a key strategic investment agency of the Saudi government.
AWT shares with its parent company the strategic goals of diversifying the economy of Saudi Arabia, promoting a knowledge economy, commercializing R&D and working with world-leading industry players in the transfer of knowlege.
