The Tile is hard and compact in nature and silver grey in colour. The rock was cleavable with pearly lustre. Mica flacks were also visible. Some black Grains of iron oxides were also observed as disseminated within the rock. At places, alternate bands of mica and quartz were also observed.
MICROSCOPIC OBSERVATION :
The sample mainly consists of quartz and mica (muscovite). Iron oxides (magnetite & hematite) are present in minor amount while pyrite and tourmaline are observed in trace amount. Quartz occurs as fine to medium grained (0.01mm to 0.36mm) sub angular crystals aggregates. It is mostly finely intermixed with mica. At places, corse grains of mica occurs as patches within the groundmass of quartz. A few quartz grains are coated with ferruginous material.
Mica(muscovite) occurs flaky grains(0.01mm to 0.9mm) mostly intermixed with quartz. At places mica grains carry fine grained inclusions of iron oxides and pyrite. A few mica grains are also coated with ferruginous material.
