Ssangyong was established in October, 1977 and has strengthened its position as the preeminent construction company by its high technology and expertise accumulated from its various projects in Korea and abroad.
With our strong reputation and expertise through the successful completion of diverse engineering, procurement and construction projects, we are currently involved in various projects in countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. In UAE especially, we have records of successful completion of two flagship hotels, Grand Hyatt Dubai in 2003 and Emirates Tower Hotel in 2000 in Dubai, UAE.
It is worthwhile mentioning that Ssangyong is the only Dubai Government-owned Construction and Engineering Company through Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) with holding majority share of Ssangyong.
In addition, three projects i.e, Royal Atlantis, ICD-Brookfield Place and Deira waterfront development, phase 1 - plot 3 from ICD, totaling volume of USD 1.4 Bil. high end building works are the ongoing projects of Ssangyong in Dubai.
Ssangyong among others completed the construction of Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore (USD 1 Bn.) with 2,500 keys and two months ahead of the scheduled period, which is called a “21st Century miracle” for its maximum gradient of 52 degrees from ground level, and has already become a new symbol of Singapore skyline
As for the infrastructure projects (both in home and abroad), Ssangyong has been actively involved in the construction of;
1. Roads, Expressways & Bridges for over a total length of 947 KM worth USD 8.5 Bil.
2. Tunnels for over a total length of 400KM.
3. 22 Subway projects worth USD 2.5 Bil. (60 Mil. / Km)
4. 7 High-Speed Railway projects & 15 Railway projects worth USD 3.6 Bil.
