Serhal Consulting Office (SCO) is a Civil Engineering design firm established and registered in Lebanon in 1995 under Sleiman Serhal’s professional engineering license #15156. SCO is committed to providing professional up to date structural engineering services and design with due consideration for cost efficiency while complying with recognized international norms.
The firms motto is simple: “No under-design but also no over-design” a design that is simply justified by requirements of the international codes and sound engineering judgment. At SCO, the company provide consulting services for a variety of projects, from small to large scale at all stages of design: from preliminary planning through detailed design and construction supervision.
Design of structural systems is mainly applied on reinforced concrete and steel structures. The company's professional services are based on international standards, codes, and procedures, namely the “International Building Code” (IBC) 2012 (for general design specifications and criteria), the “American Society for Civil Engineers” (ASCE) 7-05 (for minimum design loading), and the American Concrete Institute (ACI) 318-2008 (for reinforced concrete design specifications). We conduct our structural analysis and design using world class specialized software such as ARSA as well as in-house custom developed software.
SCO also extends its structural services to complex systems and special projects such as retrofitting of existing structures including historic/traditional buildings and houses.
