The Department of Science and Technology is responsible for developing policies in science, technology and higher education the Government of Pernambuco. The main lines of actions, projects and programs include strategic areas defined by the State Government Programme Seminar All By Pernambuco and State and National Conferences on Science, Technology and Innovation for Sustainable Development. The State Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation, according to the State Law No. 15,452, January 2015, has the competence to formulate, develop and implement the state policy of scientific and technological development and innovation; promote and support actions and to encourage science activities, the actions of higher education, scientific research and extension. So with establishing and managing technological centers; promoting technological education and promote public broadcasting and related services.
