GlassPoint designed the enclosed trough technology to overcome the operating challenges found in harsh oilfield environments and deliver the lowest-cost steam. When used for thermal enhanced oil recovery (EOR), GlassPoint solar steam generators can reduce an oilfield’s gas consumption and carbon emissions by up to 80%. The gas saved can be redirected towards the export market or other high-value uses, such as industrial development and electricity generation.
