Al Shafar Transport and Contracting started its activities in the late 1950s. In addition to one or two subcontractors, at that time the number of construction companies could be counted on the fingers by one hand. In 1968, Ahmed and Ali Abdullah Al Shaffar took over the company and continued the same activities, growing and prospering since the union of the United Arab Emirates and beyond.
Al Shafar Transport and Contracting is proud and honored to have participated in the architectural development of Dubai over the past 40 years. The company is rightly proud of the fact that that its founder was responsible for laying the first brick in the Jumeirah and Umm Sequeim areas of the city. While maintaining its distinguished role in the construction industry over the years, the company has gone through three stages of development during which the size of its business activities have increased many times over in terms of the number of projects and employees.
The original company base was in Al Ghubaibah in Bur Dubai before moving to Al Refa'ah, Al Shindagha, the Falcon Roundabout and finally to the current Group Head Office on the Trade Center Road. Al Shafar Transport and Contracting is proud of its history of achievement and its team of managers, engineers and administration staff who have contributed generously to its present day success and underlined the company's commitment towards further development in the service of the UAE.
